Optional Dwarven disadvantages

These are optional disadvantages that can be taken only at character creation to get extra talent points.

  • Hatred of goblins, orcs, trolls, giants and dragons. The character will enter a berserk rage (no attack bonus for this) and attack these races until there are no more left alive within site, unless a 3/IQ roll is made. (1.5 talent points)
  • Greed. The dwarf must take and carry every piece of treasure with reasonable value he finds until he meets his maximum encumbrance, unless a 4/IQ roll is made. If treasure at the end of an adventure is not equal or in his favor he will go into a berserk rage attacking HTH or possibly with weapons depending on the circumstance, unless a 4/IQ roll is made. If the others are close friends then the roll is reduced to 3/IQ. (1.5 talent points)
  • Many dwarves are raised inland and underground which gives them a phobia of large bodies of water. They must make a 4/IQ score to overcome this weakness and board a boat or such. They must pay double for any talent associated with water such as swimming or boatmanship. (1 talent point)
